Our Last Week of School in Pictures

Another school year came to an end yesterday! Here is a glimpse of how it all went down...

Monday

It was Be Yourself Day, so we all came dressed like ourselves. It was the only day that we didn't have any special events planned. We made our {iDad craftivity} in the afternoon. This is what two of my kiddos wrote to their dad's on the letter portion of the project.

Tuesday

Field day -- every kid's favorite day of the year! We dressed in sporty attire.

Wednesday

We had our annual Talent Show and is was  Hollywood themed dress day. Sadly, I do not have any pictures of those events. But I did get some cute shots of the Octopus crafts we made using: toilet paper rolls, paint, googly eyes, and scissors.

Thursday

In the morning we had our 4th Quarter award ceremony. It was Decades Day so everyone got to dress up as a person from their favorite era. I am a product of the late 80's but I'm 100% a child of the 90's!!So I got in touch with my inner Stephanie Tanner, seeing as she too falls perfectly into both of these eras.

I had to explain to my kids that this is pretty much what I looked like when I was their age.

With my bestie (who teaches 2nd grade across the hall)  representing for the 80's-- Material Girl!!

In the afternoon we cleaned out our desks, packed backpacks, and had an ice cream party!
I  decided that instead of making traditional sundaes we would make Ice Cream Sandwich Sundaes.

All the fixings, no scoops required :)

Friday

The last day is always a half day and we spent most of it rotating through centers that were inspired by activities I know every kiddo in my class would happily do for hours given the opportunity.

I grabbed the super cute 'Summer Vacation Making Words Activity' from First Grade is Fantabulous's TPT store.
It's a freebie and made for a perfect last day of school center!  Click {here} to grab it.

So that's it. I am always amazed at how fast the school year flies by! I will miss this years class next year. They're the best little group I've had so far!! But I am still so very ready for Summer Vacation :)

  6. I just found your blog and became your newest follower :) I wish I had seen this last week.... before I had an ice cream party with my kids at lunch. I spent the whole lunch time scooping their ice cream and never even got to eat my lunch :/ I'm definitely using this idea next time!

  7. I've broken and Ice Cream scoop before too-- not fun! This really was a huge time saver. The kids unwrapped their own sandwiches and brought them to the table 4-5 at a time to get their toppings. Sweet and simple. I saved one for myself too :)
