Hello Everyone! I came home from Vegas yesterday and WOW what a trip!!
Sadly, it appears I left all my luck in Sin City because since I've been
home things have been going less than superb. You see, I was still coming
down from all of my Vegas highs when I very literally came down {hard}
at the kiddie pool with my bestie's 9 month old son in my arms. My first instinct was to
protect the baby, so I threw myself in a way that left him un-harmed (Thankfully-!!)
My foot on the other hand, was left very broken.
So it appears my couch and I will be having out own special kind of meet up for the next 48 hours until I get a real cast put on Monday at the orthopedist's office. My crutches and I are already not friends. Sigh.
I needed a pick me up. So I decided to upload all the pictures from my camera so I could share my adventures in Vegas with all of you. But midway through that process my computer started flashing some pretty nasty words like
CORRUPT, BROKEN, and DAMAGED.
Whaaaat!!?
It tells me my memory card has been corrupted and recommended that I "Scan and Fix" to restore. Ok sure, whatever -- just give me my pictures!!! But despite my efforts a whole bunch of my photos were no longer visible on the memory card. They quite literally disappeared into nowhere's land. In addition to some of my favorite pictures that my mom and I had taken on our trip disappearing ALL of my pictures from the Blogger Meet Up are G-O-N-E, gone. So then I was stranded on the couch, with a broken foot, and my fr-enemy crutches, and no pictures to share. I'd be lying if I told you this didn't put my into a bit of a funk...
BUT-- luckily for me these two lovely ladies right here captured all the Meet up highlights right along with me. So I am not without documentation -- YAY!! :)
Kelley,Susan, and I were a little nervous about rolling in to meet the big dawgs solo. So we e-mailed all kinds before the big event to schedule our own little meet up for drinks and chit chat before the big event. And I'm soooo happy we did!! They are just as sweet and funny in real time as they are on their blogs!!! By the end of the night, I felt like we were longtime friends :)
( I stole this one from Primary Graffiti's Facebook-- Melissa, Cheryl Saoud, Michelle Oakes, Hope King, Anna Brantly)
Then it was time for the main event -- and check out this line up of Allstars who greeted us at the door!!
After we introduced ourselves to our greeter, we walked in and recieved the sweetest southern welcome from Kim Adist followed by greeting and big smiles from Rachelle and Natalie. The room was FULL of sweet bloggers and blog followers!
You ultimately just want these ladies to be as personal, funny, and sweet as we find them to be on their blogs.
And they are, they truly are!!
Cheryl and DeeDee talked to us about everything from Donors Choose to pedicures. They are some funny ladies! Michelle and I talked about out love of Ikea furniture. Anna was a doll!! At first glance we couldn't even find Deanna Jump who is this petite little thing.Rachelle makes quite the Master of Ceremonies and had us all laughing as she handed out prizes.
And OH were there prizes!! Over 100 people in that room and EVERYONE walked away with something from one of the fabulous sponsors. Hedi from Heidi Songs brought in a massive supply of returned and minor typo items that her husband told her she had to get rid of and we couldn't take them off her hands fast enough.I walked away with this little gem that I have contemplated buying in the past from her website. It has songs for some of the hardest blends and digraphs in town like IR/UR/ER and OO. I was so excited!!
It was definitely a night to remember!! If you ever get the chance to attend a meet up in any city -- DO IT!! :)
You'll be so happy you did, pinkie promise!!
You'll be so happy you did, pinkie promise!!
Well, if anybody is looking for me this weekend you can find me meandering around blog land while my couch and I continue to spend lots of quality time together. When I'm not blog hopping I will be most lilkely be hanging out with my new man friend, Chrstian Grey, and my girl, Katniss, in between Pinning up a storm, and hopefully working on some new TPT goodies for my shop.
I will leave you with a fewphotos of me and some of my famous friends kickin it in VEGAS!!
Keeping it glam with Marilyn, Lecturing Lindsey, Canoodiling with JT....the ush ;)
You certainly make memories that will last a lifetime. I imagine that you spent a great deal of your time laughing-are those wax figures-you are hilarious! Thank you for sharing these photos, I was very curious about the whole thing.

Oh I'm so sorry about your foot and your camera!! Bit a fun summer memory :(. But at least the baby is ok! My 15 month old cousin who just started walking broke his leg, and has a cast from his hip to his toes! And I'm with ya on the Katniss thing! I read about 200 pages to finish the first book a couple of days ago, and am now well into the second! (Thank goodness for my kindle!) Feel Better Soon!

Oh no! Concentrate on the terrific holiday you had! I hope the weather is not too hot where you live so your leg doesn't get too hot. Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteLooks like all you bloggers had a great time, minus your little foot mishap of course. I'm new to blogging and see all these great blogger meets up all the time. What a great way to really connect with teachers and friends!

So sorry to hear about your foot! Look at the bright side and try to enjoy your forced 48 hours of couch rest! Teachers NEVER get 48 straight hours to rest. Hopefully you'll be up and around in no time!!

I'm pretty sure there's ways to fix your SD card! My hubby does computers and he fixes that often. I'll ask him but you might want to try googling it!
