Wheeeew-eee!!! You know when you get sick and just can't quite shake it and it goes on and on and on? That was me the past two weeks. Throw in a few mandatory PD's and Trainings on new assessments/literacy plans that we have to give/write before conferences next week and I feel like I've spent more time sniffling and looking at data than I have actually teaching. Let alone blogging. But I'm ready to jump back in....PUT ME BACK IN THE GAME COACH!!! ;) I've had THREE subs in my room in the past two weeks so that I could
attend the above mentioned trainings and ONE for the sick day I took in the middle of it all when I needed to try and
drown my cold away in a bottle of Nyquil. Truth be told, I'm
stubborn about certain things I want to do with my kids. So when I know I'm going to be MIA a lot in a short time there are certain things I leave off
of the sub plans until I can be back and there for them. ;) #sorrynotsorry So now, I'm
trying to get my plans back on track.
My Instagram followers got a little peek at my whereabouts as I dive into said planning. Fall & Summer are my favorite times of year for a reason! Once I get the rest of my month plans finalized I will come back and post those too. For now, I wanted to show you two of my October staples...
Even with all my absences lately, one thing that has stayed in the mix is my monthly
writing prompts!! It's really nice to be able to write on the sub plans,
"Writing center" and know my babes are going to stay on task without a
lengthy explanation about what they need to do!
My October Common Core Writing Galore is the most recent in the series. I'm still working on finishing Nov-February. Hoping to finish them ALL by Thanksgiving. We'll see how that goes...
And last year I posted this Witches Brew Mini Unit that has since received a major face lift. If you already purchased, make sure you re-download to get the updated version!
This one was created around an original poem that I wrote. Lots of fluency practice and phonic sounds to be found!! We also practice some Explanatory Writing with this craftivity!
Here are some pictures I found on my phone from last year's crew.
My favorite part is how they each come on so unique to their creator!! I love how my kids put their own personality into their work!
In between the sneezing and the planning... I've been anxiously paying lots of visits to our new house as it continues to move along the building process!!! We don't have our official close date yet, but fingers crossed we should be moving in around a month from now!
Silly photo ops with the hubs...
"We have to look silly. Who takes serious pics standing in the laundry room!?"
And before I end this random post of sorts, I want to give a HUGE shout out to TPT!!!
{Thank you TGIF! for the perfect button!!}
They reached 100,000 likes on Facebook! To celebrate, they are offering 10% off with the code "FB100K" through the end of the day. I decided to join them by putting my whole store on sale for 20% off too. Who doesn't love impromptu sales!?
Hope you all are enjoying your Sunday!! :)
The witches brew craft and writing is so cute! I just saw it on Pinterest and can't wait to check it out! I hear you on leaving things for a sub...glad you are feeling better!
