Hi! I’m Jenny from Owl Things First. I teach first through eighth grade computer
and music and first grade language arts and math in the morning. My heart is really in first grade, but I
enjoy being able to interact with all the monsters in my school. Did I say monsters? Yes I did!
That’s okay though because I LOVE monsters. Who doesn’t love a soft cuddly monster? Most days that’s what my monsters are, but
some day they are grouches. On those
days there are two things I love to do…Laugh and sing! One of the songs my students learn on the
first day is, “I Love to Laugh”. It’s a
great song and we can practice our laughing skills with it. Laughing is so healthy. I have it on a CD, but sometimes we watch this video:
“Laughing invokes
feelings of happiness and joy. Instead of being all gloomy and frustrated
because there is no perceived solution, laughing lifts us up out of our pool of
problems and plops us on solid ground where we can gain some new insights.
Don’t forget to LOL (laugh out loud) frequently!” http://ririanproject.com/2007/10/26/10-benefits-of-laughter-and-how-to-use-it/
Weren’t we talking about monsters? I have been working on a little something and
I’d love to have some authentic feed-back!
I’m working on a monster unit and this what I’ve gotten done so
far. I think it will help students with
following directions and focusing on details as well as build sight word
vocabulary. I would love for you to
print this out and try it on your own children if you are blessed to have any
in your home that are the right age. My
thirteen year old thought they looked like a lot of fun, but I’d like to know
what a younger audience thinks!
Thank you so much, Stephanie for asking me to guest blog. I love being one of your followers! It has been a pleasure.
I’d love to get to know you, too. Stop by Owl Things First sometime and say
hello!
Have I told you lately how much I love your blog? Well I do and to show my appreciation I'm posting something at midnight (oooooh the suspense) about you!!
