Whew. One more day until we have a week off for Thanksgiving Break! This teacher is excited for a little down time and, of course, all the yummy foods that are soon to be coming my way!! But to keep ourselves busy in the meantime we have been getting our Turkey-lurkey on....
We had lots of fun today making our Don't Eat The Turkey crafts to go with our persuasive writing.
{Our door is my new favorite thing to decorate}
{Three of my little turkey's showing off their work}
{You can snag this little diddy in my TPT shop HERE}
But our Turkey week wouldn't be complete without a little help from some of my favs....
I knew how awesome Katie's Busy Teacher's Best Friend centers were after snagging her Halloween edition. Hello, who couldn't use a little "no prep" centery goodness this time of year? So when she came out with her Busy Teachers Best Friend Thanksgiving Edition, I was all over it!! My kids love these activities. Here's one of my kiddos doing one of the included math stations.
We've also been using Jen's Turkey Time Literacy Centers during literacy stations this week. Today I even added a little clay into the mix during one of the word work centers which was kind of big deal! She's got two fabulous center packs that we've been enjoying this
month and I'm already planning to start laminating some of her December centers over break.
Two other Thanksgiving goodies I've used this week that I want to give a shout out....
I've done a disguise the Turkey Project in my class for years but the things that makes Gladys's Turkey in Disguise project my favorite version yet is the writing component and rubric she includes to grade it. I sent it home with my class last week and I can't wait to see their finished products come rolling in tomorrow!!
And finally Heidi from My Not So Elementary Life has put together a great Thanksgiving Feast Sequencing activity. Thanksgiving dinner is all the buzz in my classroom this week and we've been sharing our favorite foods, so this activity tied in perfectly.
I've got a few other festive activites I'm hoping to bust out tomorrow. There is just never enough time to do it all!!
I will end with sharing the little happy that was hand delivered to the whole staff this afternoon courtesy of our Sunshine Committee and sweet parent volunteers who made the Starbucks run...
It's the little things in life :)

look at all that fun!!
