Cyber Deals Linky

 I shopped right up until bedtime last night, and maybe even stayed up a little past my bedtime to make sure I wasn't missing anything. But the one thing I've learned about TPT is I will always come back for more because at the end of the day, I am never amazed at the quality of the items that I find on there. So I want to highlight some of the items I picked up and the talented people who created them!!

Items that made my had to have list!!

I don't know about you, but sharing my best deals with others who could use them is always one of  my favorite part of the shopping experience. You know, those convos that start out, "You HAVE to go to Kohls and find these amazing flats I just snatched up!!"

So what were your favorite Cyber Monday & Tuesday Purchases?

Grab the Button Above, Link up,  and Let us know!!

Please link directly to your post and not just your URL

Otherwise, we won't know where to look to see all the deals :)

UPDATE 12/1: The gals over at Blog Hoppin are also hosting a linky now too.
So I'm sharing my finds with them too!!

Run Run Reindeer

Keep Calm and Gobble On was my motto this Thanksgiving!! After a scrumptious meal with my whole family, many people I know geared up to hit the Black Friday scene. Most people brave the stores for savings on toys & electronics. But not this girl. Nope! I went home, put on my jammies, and stalked out the blogosphere waiting for my chance to snatch up a sweet Black Friday  deal on a custom blog design. And come mid night I scored BIG over at Jumping Jax Designs!! I can't wait to get started on personalizing my little space and sharing it with you all in the very near future! After I scored my big Black Friday deal I was content with stay up and putting the finishing touches on my Run Run Reindeer {Christmas Craftivity & Writing} Pack!!

Whew. One more day until we have a week off for Thanksgiving Break! This teacher is excited for a little down time and, of course, all the yummy foods that are soon to be coming my way!! But to keep ourselves busy in the meantime we have been getting our Turkey-lurkey on....

We had lots of fun today making our Don't Eat The Turkey crafts to go with our persuasive writing.

 {Our door is my new favorite thing to decorate}

{You can snag this little diddy in my TPT shop HERE}

But our Turkey week wouldn't be complete without a little help from some of my favs....

I knew how awesome Katie's Busy Teacher's Best Friend centers were after snagging her Halloween edition. Hello, who couldn't use a little "no prep" centery goodness this time of year? So when she came out with her Busy Teachers Best Friend Thanksgiving Edition, I was all over it!! My kids love these activities. Here's one of my kiddos doing one of the included math stations.

We've also been using Jen's Turkey Time Literacy Centers during literacy stations this week. Today I even added a little clay into the mix during one of the word work centers which was kind of big deal! She's got two fabulous center packs that we've been enjoying this month and I'm already planning to start laminating some of her December centers over break.

I've got a few other festive activites I'm hoping to bust out tomorrow. There is just never enough time to do it all!! I will end with sharing the little happy that was hand delivered to the whole staff this afternoon courtesy of our Social Committee and sweet parent volunteers who made the Starbucks run...

It's the little things in life :)

Stuffed With Thankful Thoughts

 It's that time of year again where we take a moment to reflect a little harder than usual on the things we are *thankful* for!! I'm happy to say my little cup of thanks is bubbling over as it often is. I'm a likes to see the cup half full kind of a gal ;)

1. This guy. My husband.

What can I say?  He's my best friend, he's incredibly supportive, and he's hot!! hehe.But seriously, this man has cooked me more meals this school year than ever before to try and combat the stressors that came with switching schools and grades. And he learned long ago that food is the key to my heart!

2. My Friends & Family
They help me get through all the ups and downs life likes to throw my way. I love them for it!

 3. Oh They Places I've been!

 I've been blessed with the opportunity to travel to many amazing places in my 26 years of life. Australia, Argentina, Chile, Greece, Costa Rica. I'm a total travel bug. Lucky for me, my husband is too. I am so thankful for all the trips I've been able to take and knowing that there are still many more to come :)

4. Blogging & TPT

I am thankful for the new ideas, the collaboration, the resources that I have found that enrich my classroom, the knowledge that resources I have created are being used by others and affecting kids all across the country, and above all else the friendships I have made through this amazing community!!

5. My Job.

This one in more ways than one this year. I'm thankful for the opportunity do work that allows me to work with children and help leave a small footprint on the course of their life. I'm thankful for employment period. I'm thankful that I was able to switch schools this year when my old school no longer felt like the right place for me.

Piggy backing on this one a little, I'm thankful my school has not been affected by any natural disasters. Other teachers and schools have not been so lucky lately.

{Devastation in the DR}

My friend Kristen from A Day In First Grade recently shared with me that the school she worked for in the Dominican Republic was devastated by a recent flood. So I want to help her in spreading the word sharing a link with details of their situation and how you can help. Click HERE for more info.

Ok my bloggy friends, I know we all have lots to be thankful for! Head on over to A Year of Many Firsts to link up with your list of things you're giving Thanks for this Holiday Season!!

Are you Making this Pinterest-ing Mistake??

I love me some Pinterest!! I love it so much I even dressed up like her for Halloween this year! Aside from the blogs that I already follow, Pinterest is my number one favorite place to score new ideas and resources for my classroom. It can also be a really great way for you to spread your own classroom ideas to a wider audience. But it can also be a real bummer when you go to click on something you Pinned only to find that the pin does NOT lead you directly to what you were hoping to find. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve still found a lot of awesome new blogs this way. And because I’m very familiar with blogger, I can usually use the search engine to find what I was looking for. But I’m not sure everyone out there takes the time to do that extra bit of searching. I recently realized that I had been pinning a lot of things from my blog that were only linking directly to the posts they came from. BUMMER!! But now that I realize what it was that I was doing wrong, I will never make that mistake again. Many of you probably already know this, but for the handful like me who didn't realize they weren't doing it right, I thought would go ahead and share...

If you're pinning from somebody's blog post, you want to make sure you have clicked on the actual title link to the post. Once you've done that you can pin freely and it will lead you directly back to the post that you pinned from. BUT - if you pin something and then realize you weren't tapped directly into the post it came from and just pinned something you found while scrolling through their blog, this is what you can do:

1) So you start out business as usual by selecting the image you want to pin....

2) ...And then selecting the board you want it in, editing the text, and clicking Pin it!

3) Then this screen comes up right away and you will want to click See Your Pin.

4) Once you do you image will be shown and you have the option to Repin or Edit. Click Edit.

5) Now you can see the link source. Right now this image will take a pinner directly back to my blog but NOT the specific blog post that this image is from.

6)  So you will want to go to the blog post your image comes from and copy that specific URL.

7) Paste the direct URL into the LINK box and click save.

Now when someone re-pins your pin or clicks on it from your board, it will take them directly to the post that it came from! You will want to make sure you edit with the direct URL right away because if you wait and do it later, anyone who has already pinned it will not benefit from your edit and it will still just take them to the original source that was in the link box.

Hoping this little tutorial will help some of you on your future pinning agendas :)

And before I go just a quick reminder that I have a pretty sweet 500 Follower giveaway going on until Tuesday night. Click the image below to head on over and get yo-self entered!!
